Stronger Foundations: Building the Next Chapter of Prosperity Potlucks™
When Prosperity Potlucks™ began in August 2024, the vision was simple.
Create welcoming spaces where people could come together over food, share what was really happening in their work and lives, hear different perspectives, share resources, knowledge and lived experience across all walks of life and sectors, and discover what becomes possible when the right people gather around a table.
What none of us fully knew at the time was just how much people needed spaces like these.
Since then, we have hosted 52 Prosperity Potlucks™ and welcomed 416 attendees across our tables.
But we measure more than how many people attend.
Each year, we gather feedback to understand what is actually happening because people come together around the table.
We look at whether people are making useful connections, gaining new ideas, finding support, discovering opportunities, and leaving with more clarity about their next steps.
Because for us, success is not simply measured by how many Potlucks™ we host.
It is measured by whether people leave feeling more connected, more supported and more able to move forward.
That is the real reason stronger foundations matter.
Along the way, we have seen new collaborations form, opportunities shared, challenges solved, confidence rebuilt, and countless moments where people realised they were not carrying everything alone.
For nearly two years, much of Prosperity Potlucks™ has been held together through passion, relationships, community support, and a great deal of work behind the scenes.
As the tables have grown, it became clear that if we wanted to support more people, more communities, and create a lasting impact, we needed stronger foundations.
That is why we are delighted to have secured support from The National Lottery Community Fund.
Whilst funding is always welcome, what excites me most is not the funding itself.
It is what this support makes possible.
What does this actually mean?
In simple terms, it means we can better support the people who make Prosperity Potlucks™ what they are.
It means clearer communication, so you know what is happening and when.
It means more support behind the scenes, ensuring tables run smoothly and people feel welcomed and connected.
It means we can begin training future facilitators, allowing more communities to experience Prosperity Potlucks™ whilst maintaining the values that make the tables special.
It means we can spend less time trying to keep up with administration and more time focusing on the conversations, connections and opportunities that matter most.
Most importantly, it means we can build something that is sustainable, so the relationships, support and opportunities being created around the tables continue long into the future.
As part of this next chapter, we are also delighted to welcome Claire as our new Prosperity Potlucks™ Coordinator.
Claire brings calm, reliable support behind the scenes and will help us stay connected with our growing community. From communications and attendee support through to helping capture the stories and successes emerging from around the tables, Claire's role will help strengthen the experience for everyone involved.

Whilst these developments may seem operational on the surface, they are actually about something much bigger.
Creating the foundations needed to support more conversations.
More communities.
More opportunities.
And ultimately, more people experiencing what becomes possible when we choose to come together around a table.
This is not the end of a journey.
It feels very much like the beginning of the next chapter.
